Golf

There are more golf courses in the Dominican Republic than any other country in the Caribbean. In the Punta Cana area alone there are over 15 courses either open or currently under construction within a ten mile radius. Tom Fazio’s first course outside the US is currently underway at Punta Cana. Pete “PB” Dye has already built 36 holes in Punta Cana. Several Jack Nicklaus Signature courses are under construction, as well as a Nick Faldo course at RocoKi which neighbours Cana Bay. There are a further dozen courses in the pipeline.

There will be an 18-hole par 72 Jack Nicklaus designed championship golf course with exclusive membership to all Cana Bay owners. The golf course will benefit from a state of the art irrigation system that will ensure the fairways and greens remain verdantly beautiful all year round. The course will be maintained by the Moon Palace Hotel to ensure it is kept in peak condition. The Club house will be for use by the players and offer a full range of services including buggy and golf equipment hire, dressing room with lockers, a pro shop in case you leave any essentials at home and a snack bar. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be available to all players throughout the day.

Jack Nicklaus – the “Golden Bear”
Jack Nicklaus’s competitive career spanned five decades, and his legend has been built with 105 professional tournament victories worldwide and a record 20 major championship titles. He is the only player in history to have won each of the game’s majors at least twice (six Masters, five PGA Championships, four US Opens, three British Opens and Two US Amateurs), and he is the only player to have completed the career “Grand Slam” on both the regular and senior tours. He has played on six Ryder Cup teams. He has designed three other golf courses in the Punta Cana region one of which at Cap Cana, is open today and represents one of the most spectacular courses in the world which hosted the Cap Cana Senior PGA event in March 2008.
