Here is a typical example on the purchase of a €900,000 villa

  Initial booking deposit €10,000 (Refundable subject to site visit)
  Balance of deposit €40,000 (Includes exchange bond)

No further payments until completion of scheme.

The deposit amount can vary depending on the value of the property.

Banks in Portugal will lend 75/80% loan to value at completion. In most cases the banks will offer interest only loans

UK

In almost all schemes in the UK the client will be asked for a 10% deposit to secure a unit. Typically the UK banks will lend 80% loan to value at completion.
